We've done our best to make creating a scrapblog as easy as possible, but if you would like a short guide, please check out our quick tour http://www.scrapblog.com/tour/tour.aspx

How many scrapblogs can I create?

You may create as many scrapblogs as you want. There is no limit! The more, the merrier :)

Does it cost anything to create a scrapblog?

No, creating and sharing a scrapblog is absolutely free.

How do I use my photos hosted with other photo sites?

In the Scrapblog Builder, simply click "Get Photos", select the service that hosts your photos and follow the simple directions. Easy!

Currently you may import photos from the following sites: Flickr, Webshots, Photobucket and Facebook.

Of course, you may also upload photos from your computer. To do so, click on “Get Photos” and then on “Upload Photos”. You may select your photos and then click on “Start Upload”. Your photos will show up automatically in the hand bar.

How do I add video clips?

Adding video is as simple as copying the video's URL from YouTube, clicking the "Video" panel in the Scrapblog Builder, and pasting the Link to the YouTube video URL. At this time we can only accept YouTube videos and we will add more video sharing sites in the future.

How long will my scrapblogs be live?

Unless you decide to delete them, your scrapblogs will always remain online.

How do I save my scrapblog?

Saving a scrapblog will preserve the changes you've made. Please save your scrapblog as soon as you start creating it.

What does publish mean?

Publishing a scrapblog makes it possible for others to see your scrapblog. When you publish, you have the option of keeping your scrapblog private, so only your invited friends can see it, or making it public, so everyone can see it. Publishing takes about one minute per page.

After you publish your scrapblog, you may share it with your friends by email or on your social networks and you may post it to your blog. Please see the Sharing section below for further instructions.

You may also save your scrapblog pages to your computer. Just click on “File” and then on “Export as JPEG” and follow the instructions.

Sharing

Can I send an order as a gift to someone else?

You can also check the status of any order at any time when you are logged into the site from the 'My Account' link at the top of the site. Simply click on the 'Orders' tab and you will see detailed information about your order.

When will I receive my order?

How can I get a refund or reprint?

Everyone at Scrapblog wants you to love your creations. If you are unhappy with your order, please contact us within 30 days of purchase so that we can reprint your order right away or issue you a refund.

There are some cases which are out of our control, and therefore Scrapblog is not responsible for:

  • Spelling errors or mistyped text entered on a page or on the cover of a keepsake book. Please proof-read your scrapblogs carefully to make sure you have dotted all your i's and crossed all your t's.

  • Use of low quality photographs (e.g. mobile phone camera photos or photos imported from Facebook). It is possible that these low-resolution images will not look very good in your printed products, especially if you enlarge them on the page. It is best to upload the original photos to Scrapblog to ensure the highest quality print output.

  • Minor color differences. Colors may vary across different computer screens. Some computer screens have a yellow tint, some have a blue tint, and some put emphasis on certain colors more than others. Our printing systems are calibrated on a regular basis to produce the must accurate colors possible. However, your print order may look slightly different than the colors that are displayed on your screen.

If you are not happy with your order for any reason, including even the reasons above, please contact us. We will work with you to make things right. We may ask you to return your order to us before issuing a refund or reprint. You can reach us at printing [at] scrapblog.com.

Help! Things aren't working

Why can't I see my scrapblog?

The most common reason for a blank viewer page is an old version Flash. Scrapblog takes advantage of some of the latest internet technologies; because of this you need the latest version Flash. Flash is a free plug-in from Adobe. You may get Adobe Flash for free here http://www.adobe.com.

Why can't I edit or view my scrapblogs from work?

Please make sure that your office computer has the latest version of Flash installed. If it doesn't, please ask your network administrator to upgrade office computers to the latest version of the Flash player, which is free.

Many offices use technology which block internet sites that do more than normal websites. These firewalls are used to keep out malicious attacks, but they are not very good at letting the good guys in, like Scrapblog.

Why does the Scrapblog Builder take forever to load?

Scrapblog is optimized for broadband internet connections, you may be using dial-up or experiencing internet slowdowns in your area. To make the best of Scrapblog we highly recommend using broadband internet, such as DSL or a cable modem. If things are still slow, check to make sure you are not running other bandwidth intensive applications such as peer-to-peer file sharing clients or VOIP clients, these applications can slow downloading and publishing within Scrapblog.

How long does it take to publish?

Publishing a scrapblog requires about one minute per page. If it's taking much longer than this or if it seems like publishing is stuck, press the cancel button, close the Builder and then reopen it again.

Before publishing, your work is automatically saved, so your scrapblog will be available for editing in future sessions.

Please remember to save your scrapblog early and to leave the automatic save feature on.

Why can't I see the whole Builder screen or the “Done” button?

Many web browsers have a "Full Screen" mode giving webpages more room to breathe and expand. The Builder can benefit from "Full Screen" mode. On most Windows PC's pressing the F11 key on your keyboard will toggle between regular and "Full Screen" mode.

Regarding seeing the whole workspace, sometimes it helps to view your browser in "full screen" mode. Usually you can toggle to full screen mode by pressing the F11 key on your keyboard.

You may also try temporarily disabling the "status bar" at the bottom of your browser. The way to do this would be click on "View" and then "Status Bar" on your browser's menu.

Another way to see more would be to adjust your screen resolution size in your computer. If you are using a PC, you may find the display settings in the Windows Start menu, under Display Settings -> Advanced. You may also right click on your desktop to get to the display settings menu.

1. Open Display in Control Panel (click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display)

2. On the Settings tab, under Screen resolution, drag the slider, and then click Apply.

3. When prompted to apply the settings, click OK. Your screen will turn black for a moment.

4. Once your screen resolution changes, you have 15 seconds to confirm the change. Click Yes to confirm the change; click No or do nothing to revert to your previous setting.

Can I use other people's photos in which I'm tagged in a Scrapblog?

No. One of the limitations of Facebook is that we can only use photos that you uploaded to your Facebook account. You can always message your friend to email you the photos, that way you can upload them to Scrapblog yourself.

I posted my scrapblog as a photo album, why can't I see it in Facebook?

When you post a photo album to Facebook from an outside website, like Scrapblog, you must approve the photos before they show up alongside the rest of your photos. The process of approving your photos is easy. When you visit Facebook you will notice a box on the right hand side of their home page titled "Requests" and a link "1 pending album". Clicking this link will bring you to a page where you must select and approve the photos you added - that's it!
